Hi everyone,
I’m starting the new year with a blog hop. Using Sale-a-bration stamps is so fun and with the one I chose, it was just a stamp set and Designer Series Paper (DSP) to match. Having the two together makes the card come together quickly.
I used the set Friendly Hello with the DSP Friendly Hello. You can get both free with a $100 order between now and February 28th. I decided to highlight the one bird perched on ,a tree limb. I colored them with colors from the DSP Petal Pink, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green. I colored the branch with Crum Cake. Then I just layered and stamped the Hello Friend sentiment. Project sizes below:
- Basic White Thick Cardstock cut at 4-1/4 then scored at 5-1/2
- Basic White Pearl (smallest size)
- Petal Pink, Pool Party and Fresh Freesia and Early Expresso blends
- Pool Party cut at 5-1/4 x 4
- Petal Pink 5-1/8 x 3-7/8
- DSP cut highlighting whatever you want to show up 5-1/8 x 3-11/16
- Hint on doing the figuring on where to cut. Use a scrap piece of acetate and move it around until you like it!
Hint: See another card using the same set!

Very pretty!! I love the color combination.
Thanks Sue!
I love the coordination of colors! Looks like fun coloring!
Coordination of everything is my favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! and the DSP seals the deal! Thanks
Jan, I love your card. I think this is my favorite SAB set!
Initially, I didn’t think I’d like it but using it (it was free!) made me fall in love with it. The DSP is just so perfect. Thanks!
What a pretty card! Love how you used the pearl for the bird’s eye.
Thanks, I wasn’t sure, but it seems others like it too, so I guess I picked ok (I really didn’t have anything else to use, lol)
Letting the DSP guide the color choices is perfect. Love your tip for placement.
Thanks. I’m definitely going to work on doing that more.
Jan, this is a beautiful card. Great colors!
Thanks Ann
Love that stamp set and paper. I really like the way you spotlighted the DSP
Thanks Robin. DSP is one one thing I’m working on using more. It makes it so easy!
Wonderful card! Love the colors and design!
Thanks Marilyn. I love these hops Brian has. It makes me use stuff I sometimes overlook
I am such a big fan of this bundle. I love birds so this card really speaks to me. The sofa colors and the perfect use of the pearl are wonderful!
Thanks Pam
Aren’t these birds just the sweetest?! I love the beautiful layers behind your focal panel – they really frame the paper well. ♥
Thanks Brian, I wasn’t sure about this set. I’m happy the opportunity to use it made me realize how cool it is!
This is such a sweet and soft card! I love your color choices and layout.
They are different for me too. Makes me look at other colors instead of my usual. Just let the DSP guide me
What a great tip on using the acetate. I never thought of that. Cute card.
I try to add tips. I made a whole video with some of my tips. Check it out.
